On Sunday my parents and sister decided to come up for a spur of the moment birthday visit. When they arrived, Danny and I were finishing up a yummy breakfast of omelets, bacon, toast and COFFEE! I have to give most of the credit to Danny on this one. Looks like I am dating quite a cook! ;)
OUR NEW POOL!!
Danny's baseball games were cancelled due to all the rain on Saturday, so he got to hang out and spend the day with us. We spent most of the day just enjoying the weather and being outdoors. It was great to just spend the whole day outside! As the pool continued to fill up, Danny was determined to put the pump together. I swear this pool quickly turned into his baby. Who knew he'd love setting up and having a pool so much? I'm glad he enjoys it..
After a while we all piled in the car and headed to Wal-mart. Spending part of my birthday at a Wal-Mart or even a dollar store, is a-ok in my book! Can't get enough of those stores! At Wal-mart I got to pick out my parents birthday gift for me.. a microwave!! I love it! In addition to the microwave, my Dad helped me find a birdfeed sock that little yellow finches seem to love. We set that up almost immediately and by Monday I already had some birds! I also grabbed some pretty flowers while there. My Mom and I checked out the outside gardening area and as always, I ran around like alittle a kid in a candy store. I came out with a gorgeous pot of pink flowers and a flowering flock that looks like peppermint. The little flowers are white and pink striped. They are so unique yet so pretty!
After Wal-Mart we all went to Max & Erma's. It was delicious! It was great to relax and spend some quality time with my loved ones. I am so happy that my family came to visit and celebrate my birthday with me!
Yesterday (my actual birthday) Danny surprised me by coming over early. He had set up a cute little scavenger hunt where I had to follow post-its and clues to find my gifts. I wasn't on my A game (I blame the long day of work on that one..) but in the end, I ended up with 4 or 5 seasons of Seinfeld and two nice bottles of wine. He seems to know me too well because I loved them! After, we decided to lay low and relax so we decided to grill rather than go out to dinner. We grilled up some mushroom, cheese burgers, and made some mac n 'cheese and green beans. Yum!
My birthday was perfect and thank you to everyone for all of the thoughtful birthday wishes! I loved them!
MY DECK FURNITURE, TIKI TORCHES & FLOWERS (PLEASE IGNORE THE HOSE -LOL)
Tonight Danny played on a softball team that a guy he works with plays on. It also looks like ANOTHER storm might be rolling in. I can't believe this crazy weather. It's like April mixed with August with all of this rain and humidity. Ugh. Anywho, I am looking forward to celebrating our anniversary this Friday and then a fun-filled weekend of baseball, my family picnic and Father's Day!
Hope everyone is staying dry and cool!
