So I guess they call that thing in the sky the sun... and whatever that supposedly is, it is a beautiful thing right now. It feels so good to thaw out again. The winter blues were starting to kick in I think.
As you can see and understand in past blogs by the one and only Sarah M. Ledford, becoming a home owner isn't ALLLL sunshine and rainbows. It's been a pretty tough journey for Sarah lately. She had to walk away from a pretty amazing (at first) house. I am really proud of her though and how she has handled many of the curveballs and screwballs and knuckleballs and splitfingerss thrown at her (sorry baseball mentality taking over).. She seriously has handled all this adversity like a champ and she chose to take the positive road with walking away from the house. She keeps saying that she thinks this is a blessing in disguise and I couldn't agree more. I feel today is a sun shiney day for a reason because it is shining a new light and opportunity on another house she is going to be looking at today. She is really excited about it and I hope it is everything she has ever imagined... good hard working people like Sarah deserve good things to happen to them!
As far as how I am doing with my business, I have been working my day job day in and day out and with the little free time I have I have been working on getting back into baseball shape. I am reallly excited on how things are going with it because I feel I have found my groove back with pitching. I had a game a couple Sundays ago in which I pitched 3 innings and did better than I ever expected... my coach quoted in saying "Dan, you have Major League stuff." As awesome as it is to hear something like that, especially from my coach who has seen a lot of talent in his days, I can't get too ahead of myself. I do have a Major League dream but I just have to keep a level head with things and keep doing what I'm doing and view it as a process. It does feel so good to have a dream come back to life though, it makes me so incredibly happy. Sarah has been real supportive of the pursuit of my dream too, which I am very thankful for, she's the real deal kind of gf :)
Yesterday, Sarah and I were able to take the dogs on a walk through OSU's campus and see all the newly tanned college students all back running around from spring break. They were playing volleyball, basketball, roller blading etc. A part of me was jealous, but then I walked past a building window and saw a teacher teaching a class and I was like, NOPE! not anymore! It was a great day yesterday and I'm looking forward to the upcoming sunny and warm days.
Sarah will be going home this weekend for Easter, as will I. She has been saying that she is home sick and she can't wait to get back and spend time with the family. I can't wait either. It's going to be so good to kick it with the parents and see some family that is coming in from out of town. Plus, I get to clean off my golf shoes for this weekend! YESSS.
Hope everyone has a great tail end of the week and great weekend! Happy Easter!
