Lets see. Friday my parents were here and the three of us went and saw Sarah Palin. It was great to be part of something political. I love politics and used to be involved in college. I was able to get up to the stage and got some awesome shots of her. I also got to get Chris Speilman's autograph. My dad just simply wanted to shake his hand, and did just that. Chris spoke before Sarah came on and his speech was great! After this event I have to admit
After the event I took them through German Village so they could see and get a feel of where I have been spending a good chunk of my time lately. They loved the area. We then met Danny at the Max & Ermas in German Village, which also happens to be the FIRST! My realtor told us recently that when she was a little girl she would go there and see Max all the time, so yes there really is a Max & an Erma. It was an enjoyable time though. We were all exhausted, but it was nice to relax, hang out, drink and get some of their hot, just outta the oven, cookies. Yum. We were happy that Danny met up. =)
My parents stayed the night and we got up early Saturday for breakfast and to look at some places. I was really happy that they got to meet my realtor, Kate, and give me their insight on some places. I continue to learn more and a more each day about loans, mortgages and home ownership. It is a lot to take in, but I have pleasantly surprised myself with how much I have absorbed and learned. My parents stayed and visited for a while then headed back home. It was nice they came to visit, because i hadn't seem them in a while. I know the pups enjoyed having them here too.
Danny and I had things to get done, so we worked on our things then got together before heading out because he wanted to hear about the houses/ condos I had just looked at. We headed out and met up with our friends, Sarah and Eric. We had kind of forgotten that this weekend was the Arnold Classic, so Thurmans was extra busy! We put our name on the list, behind 26 other names, (crazzzy) and headed next door to Easy Street Cafe. We got some apps to hold us over (flaming cheese-yum!) and a few rounds of drinks. It was nice to catch up and relax while waiting for the burger experience. I have to admit, I'm not a person that typically orders a burger when eating out, but this burger was tasty! Someone at Thurmans said they have been busier since the guy from Man vs. Food had stopped in and taken on the terminator burger, and I believe it. 3 hours later we were finally eating dinner- ha. It was worth the wait though and was such a neat little place with a lot of history. Our plans to head downtown afterwards, unfortunately didn't happen because we just hit a wall. A HUGE burger and many drinks later, we were wiped out. Happy we got to share our first Thurmans experience with friends though. It was fun.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend and getting a chance to enjoy the sunshine. Danny is currently at practice and I have some things I need to do to get ready for the work week. I think we may try and grab some brunch then take the dogs to a park or trail around here, any excuse to be outdoors on such a pretty day.
Happy Sunday!
Love,
Sarrie & Dano
