Tis the season..

Friday was a casual evening. We ran to the grocery and spent it making a nice, home cooked meal. We attempted pork chops for the first time and made green bean casserole and loaded mashed potatoes. It was fun to unwind and enjoy a good meal followed by some good sleep. Gotta love not having to set an alarm.

Saturday the weather was so nice. We headed to campus early afternoon and met up with Bill & Jamie to tailgate for the Penn State/ OSU game! It was great to be back on campus and see the sea of scarlet & gray everywhere you looked. Walking around you were surrounded by ongoing booths, selling a little bit of everything imaginable, junker vans w/ TVs, footballs being tossed, crock pots and grills sizzling, etc, etc. Game Day also visited campus and got to witness firsthand a Buckeye victory.

The four of us visited a couple tailgate parties and enjoyed some drinks and food. Once the game was over, we followed the crowd that flowed from the stadium and made our way to a new bar on campus, Tipsy. We enjoyed a little dancing and some shots before hitting up one more bar and eventually ending at Donatos. It was nice to finally sit, relax and talk over a beer and some pizza slices (or better yet, squares) ;).

Saturday was SO much fun. Being back on our favorite campus and enjoying perfect weather and a victory with friends.. what could be better? I <3 OSU!

Sunday we woke up by a good time and enjoyed an awesome breakfast at Firstwatch. It was Danny's first time eating there and our first time eating at the one in German Village. It was definitely worth the wait. Following Firstwatch we ran some errands then headed home and had a crazy productive day around the house. Sunday turned out to be one of those productive days where you are randomly motivated to keep going and going and before you know it, you're shocked at how much you got accomplished. Nice feeling.

Our weekend was filled with a variety of things that contributed to making it a GREAT one! Now if I can just make it through this insanely crazy week, I should be good. Back to working for the weekend... :)

Goodbye October...

Sorry for being MIA!

A few weekends ago we headed to Indy to see our favorite comedian, Brian Regan. Indianapolis is a fun city and we enjoyed a change of scenery and some good laughs. The show was great and afterwards we walked around the city and enjoyed a late night dinner.

Last weekend was Halloween and we were busy busy getting ready for our Hallo Eve party! Danny went dressed as an arrogant, rich pro baseball player and I was his ditsy, spoiled trophy wife. Our party was a GREAT success. When the sun went down all of the decorations came on and instantly making our house a spooky haunted house. Some of the guests commented on the details and everywhere you turned there was a new, scary surprise. I had everything from a flying ghost, strobe lights, motion censor scary pictures, skeleton lights, hanging body parts, flickering candles, pumpkins, tombstones, large spiders to eyeballs. It was great to see the results of weeks of planning and decorating sort of come alive.

It was great though and we had an awesome turnout. My punch was tasty (and strong), Danny's music selection was amazing and everyone had a lot of fun! We had a group of guests spend the night and Sunday we all ate lunch before everyone headed their separate directions. We loved seeing everyone and love you all! After lunch Danny played in his final baseball game of the season. He ended the season being nominated MVP. So proud of him. <3

I recently enjoyed getting dinner with Danny's good friend Bill's wife, Jamie. It was fun to get to know her better and we are SO excited to tailgate with them this weekend for the OSU vs. Penn State game! I can't believe how fast this Fall (and football season) is going.

Danny and I are happy to have our house back to normal. We came together nicely to clean up and get things back to how they were pre Halloween. We have enjoyed incorporating more and more of Danny's things into the house to make it OUR house and love how it looks. We are quite the decoraters, I must say. lol. :)

Lastly I will leave you with.. if you haven't had a chance to see Toy Story 3 yet...rent it! You will love it! lol.

In my next post I will try and remember to share my random, bizarre dream, the birth of my cousin's daughter and the weirddd connection between the two. I still am at a loss for words! Yikes.

Apple Strudel Anyone?

Hi everyone!

Sorry I have been falling behind on here. Been busy, busy and trying to catch up on sleep when we can.

Not this past weekend, but the weekend before, my cousin Emily came up Saturday morning for some lunch and shopping. It was great to spend some time with her and show her the house too! I took her to Schmidt's in German Village and she seemed to really like it. Afterwards we headed to Easton and did some shopping. It was fun and I was really happy to see her and show her around Columbus a bit.

This past week we went out and celebrated my friend, Natalie's birthday. It was a fun night out during the week and it was great to see her too.

This past weekend we packed up and headed down to Dayton to visit with Danny's parents. On Saturday, Sandy and I headed to a cooking class at the Orthodox church in downtown Dayton. It was a lot of fun and it was nice to spend some time with Sandy and some of her friends. While we learned how to whip up some yummy recipes and enjoyed an equally yummy lunch, Danny and his Dad got to fit in 18 holes of golf. The weather was perfect for them to golf. Danny also randomly ran into his old coach from Wright State. I think we all are happy that he got a chance to see his old coach and catch up. It's funny how things randomly happen or work out, but I guess things usually happen for a reason. :)

After our cooking class, Sandy and I headed straight to the grocery to grab some items for dinner and the things we needed to try out an apple strudel dessert that we had learned to make at the class. Danny and I enjoyed a nice evening in Dayton with the Barkers. The weather was great and we got a chance to see the Nickley's lot and walk around the course a bit. We were happy that our dessert we made turned out and the guys seemed to enjoy it too.

On Sunday we headed to Cincinnati. We met up with my cousin Phil and his recently announced fiance, Elizabeth. The four of us went to the Bengals vs. Buccaneers game. It was a great game to watch and a ton of fun, minus us losing in the end. Bummer. Carson Palmer has got to get his head in the game! Anywho, we enjoyed some stadium food, stadium beer and Danny even bought me an OchoCinco jersey which I LOVE. It was a crazy day in Cincinnati due to the Bengals game, Octoberfest and the Red's playoff game that evening.

After the game, we headed back to Phil's to grab the car and then shot over to my sister's apartment at UC. We got to see her new apartment (very cute) and grabbed a quick dinner before heading to the hospital to see my Grandpa. My Grandpa has been in the ICU and my parents had suggested that my sister and I make time to see him. The three of us visited for a while and watched some baseball with him. I am very happy that we got to see him. He seemed in good spirits and was rather talkative. I know he enjoyed seeing the three of us as well.

That night we just wanted to relax (since we both had Monday off), so we watched the Reds playoff game with my folks and went to bed. Danny and I got some much needed rest before starting our journey back to Columbus. On the way Danny suggested doing one of the things on our bucket list, stopping at the Jefferson Outlet Mall. It was a great suggestion because every place was having an awesome sale. We both did very well, but I think Danny is the winner with this one. We found a sale I had told him about, where you buy a pair of shoes and get two free. He needed new black shoes, so he took advantage of this deal. The same applied for their slacks, so he got a new pair of black work pants plus two free pairs of work pants. Can't beat it!

We made our way back to Columbus then changed into some of our new clothes (yes, we are dorks) and went out for sushi. The weather was so nice that we had to do something outdoors. Sadly, there won't be many more chances to do this. We shared a bottle of wine and enjoyed an evening in the Short North siting on a patio. Priceless.

We are busy little bees but somehow always manage to make it all happen and enjoy every bit of it while doing it. We loved seeing our families this weekend and spending time with them.

This past weekend Danny and I traveled to Red River Gorge, KY for some camping and hiking. We left after work on Friday and dropped the dogs off in Cincinnati on the way down, so we got down there pretty late on Friday. When we arrived everyone was hanging out around the campfire. The first campground site was booked, so we had to spend Friday at our second choice. Although it rained here and there, it was a fun evening and great to hang out with everyone.

On Saturday morning we all woke up early and one of the guys on the trip made us all a great breakfast that consisted of eggs, sausage, peppers, etc. It was a great way to kick off the day! The rain let up on Saturday and the weather could not have been more perfect. Sunny and cool, the perfect combination for some hiking. Saturday consisted of a lot of hiking and some of the people in our group repelling as well. The area down there was gorgeous and the rocks and trees along the trails were unique and pretty.

Saturday night we all got back to the nicer camp ground and built a fire and got ready for a chili dinner that was amazing. The night was filled with good conversation, drinking, chilling, smores and just the great outdoors. It was a great night spent in the woods.

Sunday we began our trip back north and spent some quality time with my family before heading home and perparing for another busy work week.

This weekend we traveled, big shocker, I know lol.

Danny and I headed up to Cleveland Saturday night to celebrate my friend Felecia's birthday. We visited and stayed with my good friend (and old roomie) Christina.

Felecia rented a limo for the night and a dozen of us had a blast traveling to and from the bars in style. We all enjoyed some beverages and a mixed CD that Felecia brought in the limo. It was an entertaining night that involved some dancing, some laughter and lots of shots. We had a bit of a rough Sunday, but are SO glad that we got to celebrate with her!





We are enjoying Fall and getting excited for all that comes with it. Carmel apples, pumpkins, trees changing, football, HALLOWEEN, haunted houses, cider, etc. Love it! I'm hoping we can maybe go to a pumpkin farm this year and pick out some awesome pumpkins to carve. Checking out a spooky haunted house would be a lot of fun too! Lots to look forward to as we continue to explore new interests, tackle new risks and knock out our adventurous bucket list. Yay! :)

I think it's so interesting to observe people at airports. A single place can shuffle through hundreds of people with different backgrounds, stories, plans and nationalities. You see people rushing to grab a plane to make a work trip, families hugging and saying their "goodbyes" and everyone and everything in between. I dunno why but it's a neat place to me. I guess I have taken a new fascination with traveling.

We have been traveling quite a bit lately. A few weekends ago we made a trip to Toledo for Danny's friend Blake's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding and reception and the weather was perfect. The reception took place at a country club located on a river and it could not have been more pretty. Stephanie's dress and color choices were great. Here's a picture of us on the way to Blake and Steph's ceremony. I guess you could say I was lady in red for the evening..or more like lady in red/pink/magenta..haha you get the picture :)


On Monday it was back to work and my sister came to town for Tuesday and Wednesday to celebrate her friend Lauren's 21st birthday. I got to see her on Wednesday and we made dinner and relaxed. Her and Palmer got to cuddle and sleep together that night in the guest room. Getting him to wake up and go potty the next morning was a struggle. He popped his head out, looked at me, then buried and tried to hide under the covers. He's a little goof. My sister and I met for lunch on Thursday before she headed back to the 'Nati. It's always great to see my little (I mean younger) sister. I love her to pieces. ;-P

I received an email from Danny early on Thursday saying that his Nana, who had been battling cancer, had passed. We both made the appropriate arrangements and jetted off to Cape Cod on Friday. The weekend was filled with lots of tears, laughter, memories and more love than you could ever imagine. It was an interesting and special circumstance to meet all of Danny's extended family in, but it was a chance to see everyone in a unique yet very real state. I embraced it and loved getting the opportunity to meet everyone. His family is a very warm and loving bunch. They certainly value what's important in life while always keeping some humor in the mix. The weekend was a great one and it was apparent that Danny's mom, Sandy, was surrounded by numerous people who care deeply for her. The service took place on Sunday and was kept simple yet heartfelt. The Pastor and family all had a chance to speak and each added their own special touch to Nana's remembrance. Danny had a chance to speak and although he hadn't prepared anything prior, did a great job simply expressing what was on both his mind and his heart (I was definitely looking around for the nearest tissue box by that point). The weekend served as a celebration of someone's life and couldn't have been more perfect. Even the weather was great and only once did it begin to sprinkle but quickly stopped and decided to hold off so we could continue to remember and celebrate.
